Barron’s 40th Anniversary Celebration

Barron’s 40th Anniversary Celebration

Good Afternoon, thanks for being here. My
name is Paul Rumler, CEO of the Quad Cities Chamber. I’m really exited to celebrate 40
years here at Barron. I always say that a ribbon cutting celebrates one of the most
momentous time of somebody’s business life. You’re opening up a new facility, or you’re
starting a business. But the ones I enjoy the most are when we’re celebrating an anniversary.
That means that you’ve been through all of the business cycles and phases. I think that
this represents 40 years of impact her in our community. Both in doing great work as
a company, but also supporting your team. Having 60+ employees of part of your team
means that you’re contributing to the everyday economy of our region, providing great quality
of life, and being a part of the Quad City story. So, from the Quad City Chamber’s prospective,
our chamber ambassadors are here to represent companies like youself. If you don’t know
them, please get to know them. They join me in celebrating over 100 events like this on
an annual basis. We were really happy to be here 7 years ago when you opened up in this
facility, and now to celebrate your 40th anniversary. So we’ve prepared a plaque for you, hopefully
you’ll display it someplace prominent to celebrate your 40 years of business! Barron Equipment
has been around for 40 years now, and our business isn’t here without our employees,
our team as you said. That’s kinda how we look at things here. We’ve been blessed to
have a fantastic team of people that know that they’re more than a team, but really
family. We’re really lucky to have that, and without that we wouldn’t be able to take care
of the customers. Without the customers, you don’t have the business. We’re very lucky
to have a great team of people here, and the customers we have. We pride ourselves in having
the best products, which means that we’re dealing with the best vendors in the market.
We’re based here out of Davenport, Iowa, and we also have a location in Des Moines, and
like I said we’ve been doing this for 40 years now. Some days it feels like we’ve been doing
it for 50, and some days it feels like we’re just getting going. There’s all those mixed
emotions in there. We do all of the core businesses in the Quad Cities, everything from the John
Deere’s to the Rock Island Arsenal, to the Arconics, the Davenport Schools, and everything
in between. Those are the businesses that we’re helping support, and they’re helping
support us. I’m born and raised in Davenport, and love this area. It’s a great area to raise
a family, and I’m just proud to be part of the Barron team here. Myself and Steve took
over the business in 2002. We’ve both worked for the business before that. Steve is just
celebrating his 30th year with the business. I’m working on 24 years, and Steve just had
30 years. We’re very lucky to have that. We have a lot of people here who’ve had 10, 15+
years, we’ve got guys that have 20+ years, and we’re very lucky to have the quality of
people we have. For those of you who don’t know, we do everything from residential garage
doors, and material handling to everything in a warehouse or manufacturing facility that
you can think of where they need to be able to move product anywhere around their warehouse.
That’s what we specialize in. Anything material handling wise is what we do, and we do everything
from servicing the equipment to selling it, installing it, and maintaining it. We’re just
really proud and happy to do it in this area. Like I said, we have great team mates here,
and it’s a great community to be in. We thank you guys for coming out, and we really appreciate
it. Before we take some pictures, I would like to recognize Joe from Senator Joni Ernst’s
office. Thank you to the senator’s office for everything you do in supporting the business
community here in the Quad Cities.
