How to String Lights on a Christmas Tree : How Close to an Electrical Socket to Put a Christmas Tree

Hello my name is Matt Cail and on behalf of
Expert Village I’m going to show you today how to hang Christmas tree lights. The next
step is finding electrical socket for our Christmas tree. Now I suggest that this electrical
socket you are going to be plugging your lights into is no more than 3 feet from your Christmas
tree. There are a couple of reasons for this first off, you don’t want to be stretching
your lights from the tree all the way over to your electric socket. Because that’s really
just going to take up a lot of lights and there will be 6-10 feet of your Christmas
tree lights are going to be stretching between the tree and the socket. They are not going
to be on the branch as if your Christmas tree it’s also going to look funny, this really
weird very artificial looking line of lights. So make sure to try to the sockets about 3
feet away also a closer socket means like less pulling and stretching. Less possibility
of somebody tripping on the Christmas tree lights. Also keep in mind for any of these
sockets over here that is you have other energy demands on those sockets consider getting
yourself a power strip. Those are great they usually have 6-10 plugs in them that you will
be able to plug in your Christmas lights to. Anything else like say a star you don’t basically
tax one if you have one nearby outlet in the vicinity of your tree. You are not going to
be taxing that one outlet.
