Struggling Military Bar In Miramar – Bar Rescue, Season 4

In 2003,Sissy Xue
moved to San Diego,
California
from Hong Kong,in pursuit
of the American dream.
Announcer:
10 years later,
in 2013
Sissy opened
Filling Station Pub
across the street
from Miramar’s Marine Corps
air station.
And it was
an instant success,
making an average
of $60,000 per month.
– Hello.
– Hi, sweetie. For a little bit,
it was definitely
a military bar.It was successful.Announcer:
And catering
to the military
was something close
to Sissy’s heart.
Sissy hired bartenders
with the intention
of attracting Marines
from across the street.
Announcer:
But her plan backfired.
I’m not a professional
bartender. I’m not very observant. Woman:
Her ( bleep ) are big,
so they’re hard to miss.
Announcer:
Soon, Filling Station Pub
had a revolving door
of bartenders,
leaving Sissy
with an untrained staff
that drove away
customers.
It’s been quite
a rollercoaster with her, and firing
and hiring people.They’re not
even here long enough
to be trained
because she’s fires them. Okay? Heather:
I think a lot
of the military people
want to come in
and see familiar faces. And most of the time,
they don’t. You always pick
on somebody, Sissy. Why me? Why?
Why me, now? I don’t think the girls
respect Sissy at all, I feel like,
if anything, they kind of laugh about it. Announcer:
Believing her staff
was to blame
for her sinking profits,Sissy installed
surveillance cameras
to monitor
their every move.
Filling Station,
Rosa speaking. Yeah, I’m sorry.
I won’t, I won’t,
I won’t. Okay? Sorry. Announcer:
Sissy’s inability
to keep control
has left her
with an unruly staff
an inconsistent
clientele,
and a neglected bar.Announcer:
Now, Sissy’s
$400,000 in debt
and losing
$15,000 a month.
Announcer:
With her American dream
on the line,
Sissy has agreed
to pull back the doors,
bust open the books,
and make a call for help…
to “Bar Rescue.”

  1. The Asian woman here is SO annoying with her accent, her bitchiness and her spying on her employees 24/7 with security cameras. There's something about the last complaint I have with her that annoys me, like she's harassing her employees every second of their shifts even when she's supposed to be off!

  2. This place was always been a shit show. No females come, music sucks and marines with low alcohol tolerance come there. Only cool thing about that spot was drinks were cheap

  3. The Asian chick who the owner gave a hard time to for texting's quite hot. I wouldn't mind banging her……

  4. Shell lose everything? More like shell move back into daddies penthouse suite in hong kong to start paying back the 400,000 he. Gave her😂😂😂

  5. PUTTING MILITARY IN THE NAME WILL NOT GET THE MILITARY TO STAY! Trust me and the several "military bars" that only serve like 6 civilians BECAUSE THE BAR LOOKS LIKE SHIT.

  6. I've had 2 managers from my previous jobs who were Chinese and had cameras set up everywhere. And I've seen them monitor that shit from their phone. Now I know it's apparently a common thing

  7. I was pretty regular at the Filling Station between 2005-2007 and the place was always packed with idiot Marines (Myself included lol) throwing money around. How could she NOT make money hand over fist??

  8. Actually, my closest friend is from China. His family opened a buffet restaurant and a lot of people tried to bully them because they thought they didn't understand English. People would try to make a scene to get free drinks or a big discount when there was no problem. I saw it first-hand. So, I think she just may have had bad experiences in the past, but you cannot superimpose that on everyone.

  9. I install 16 cameras…………I can see what you're doing anywhere anytime 24/7. This sounds like 1984 to me. In her defense (if there is any) she came from a very repressive state.
