The Twelfth Doctor Regenerates: Peter Capaldi to Jodie Whittaker – Doctor Who Christmas Special 2017

There it is. The silly old universe. The more I save it,
the more it needs saving, it’s a treadmill. Yes, yes, I know. They’ll get it all
wrong without me. Well, I suppose, one more lifetime
wouldn’t kill anyone. Well. Except me. You wait a moment, Doctor. Let’s get it right. I’ve got a few things to say to you. Basic stuff first. Never be cruel,
never be cowardly, and never, ever eat pears! Remember, hate is always foolish and love is always wise. Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind. Oh, and you mustn’t
tell anyone your name. No one would
understand it anyway. Except… Except children. Children can hear it sometimes – if their hearts are
in the right place, and the stars are too. Children can hear
your name. But nobody else. Nobody else, ever. Laugh hard. Run fast. Be kind. Doctor… I let you go. Oh, brilliant!

  1. I don't care of sex. I hope they emphasize on 'doctor' not 'woman' when they make season 11, just like Jessica Jones or Wonder Woman.

  2. I for one hate the idea of a woman playing the doctor. I’m not sexiest, I just find it odd that after 12 regenerations this is the first female even though he’s gone well past his number of regenerations.
And did anyone notice that as soon as she regenerated the TARDIS just threw her out like “get the FUCK OUT!”, kinda feels like the TARDIS is being someone sexiest 😂😂 maybe the TARDIS doesn’t like the idea of a female playing the doctor.

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the twelfth regeneration the final regeneration making this the final doctor?

  4. Doesnt the tardis have it own gravity surely she cant fall out becuase she is in the tardis and it has it own gravity and the earths shouldnt be able to pull her in like it does? just a question.

  5. I was surprised,i hope they make her connect to the other doctors timelines since they same person and hopefully she get tardis bck

  6. I see an entire comment section saying they love this incarnation of the doctor and anyone who doesn't, needs to wait and not to judge until they "see the show"… but aren't the people saying the 13th doctor is going to be perfect and amazing judging the show without seeing it as well? Aren't they? Yet no one is giving them flack about making assumptions and asking them why they're judging the show before watching it. Why is that? Is it because the 13the doctor is a woman? Are you all sexist? H'mmm come to think of it, if the gender of the doctor is (supposedly) not that big of a deal, then why is it that all of these hype events are specificly at feminine and liberal events? They keep saying "this change had nothing to do with PC culture and SJW sensibilities" while at the exact same time, they book her at insane numbers of PC culture and SJW events! They parade her around specifically touting her as the "first female doctor" while the older fans all hear she's actually the "female FIRST doctor and fuck you if you question it!" And the core fan base is NOT supposed to get pissed that their tv show has been commandeered?!? I have concerns and frustrations as a once core fan of this program. No one has the right to belittle and marginalize my feelings and questions! My concerns and arguments are valid. She is NOT my doctor. She was created for someone else. But my VERY VALID point is, "why did they have to take away my show to make this new show?" This is not the same show, this show was created for someone else, someone different from the fans the show already had. These are my frustrations, these are my criticisms and THEY ARE VERY VALID. I hope it fails so they will go back to writing for their core audience.

  7. Given how destructive the previous regeneration was, and that it's been getting more and more powerful each time, and the fact that he's nearly destroyed the tardis regenerating inside it before, that he would have been smart enough to NOT regenerate inside.

  8. I just hope Jodie lasts a fair few years. The Doctor needs a good run for this one. We lose them so fast, it's barely enough time to get a proper generation of cast going.
3 companions is a lot, we need to have a good chunk of time to make sure they're all shown properly rather than just quick flicks of them in each episode.

  9. I think regenerations of Doctors 3,4,5,8,9,10,11,12 are the saddest. Now don't get me started on saying goodbye to the companions

  10. The TARDIS, with a forced smile: For the love of- Doctor, I swear if you regenerate in the console room instead of the zero room ONE more time I'll dump you out for good

  11. Why does this regeneration look so bad compared to the Eccleston and Tennants regenerations? Like the actual effects are so much worse looking than those two

  12. If the Doctor should meet Sarah Jane Smith‘s son Luke again, will he laugh at the Doctor for regenerating into a woman? Just before Sarah Jane stopped travelling with the Doctor, they met a silicon-based woman who made them take her back to her home planet which was deserted, fell into a booby trap, taken to a regenerator chamber underground, where she changed back to her true form, which was male.Luke had seen 2 incarnations of the Doctor, which were both male.

  13. One cares about you Doctor they only care about the new doctor because that's what a few people say and me no friends to anyone who disagrees or agrees

  14. I didn't know that the tautest can talk to the doctor that is very weird please someone watch it that bit is the best bit of the vid so far

  15. After watching the new episodes it must be said, I have absolutely no problem with Jodie Whittaker. in fact I quite like her. The writing however is worse than I can remember

  16. Been almost a year since I watched this, was the last Dr Who I will ever watch. NO, I am NOT sexists like all the reviewers and people are saying. I have been a fan of Dr Who all my life, since child hood when I first watched the Daleks with Jon Pertwee. There has never ever been any episode where it has been mentioned or related to regeneration to the opposite sex, not that the Time Lords have a sex that I can remember. I do not hate Jodie, never seen until this episode, and it would not matter who she was, it would make no difference to me that the BBC have destroyed an iconic legend series.

Just like a lot of TV series that are remakes of old series where male or female characters have been replaced with the opposite sex or color, it does not make sense to change something that was developed that way. Like Battlestar Galactica, where Starbuck and Boomer became female, and colonel Tigh became a drunken white man, or like Star Trek where they make a series with exceptional technology that simply does not match the same time period the older shows where shot in.

Producers have no idea how these changes impacts the audience, and then cry wolf when the ratings go down or they get slammed by negative feedback then start ranting that the audience are at fault. Would have been best to just let the Dr. die and end the series with dignity.

    R.I.P – Dr Who

  17. I’ve come to the conclusion that this is my favourite regeneration of New Who.  Twelve's speech to his future self, the music (particularly the reprise post-regen), the lighting and the direction are just incredible.  I love how it builds and builds and then after regeneration, at first we only see snippets of Thirteen, the ring falling, the Tardis console reflected in her eyes, really beautiful stuff from Rachel Talalay. I love it for what it is and also for how it is realised, what a stunning piece of TV. 💖

  18. I already miss Capaldi so much… 🙁 he was an incredible doctor. And yeah…. Jody…. Just go away. No one needs a feminist doctor who loves PC. Dr who has taken a huge hit onto the nuts.

  19. I skipped a few episodes to watch this season what about his "her " wife😅 river might not be so happy or have I missed something bug and is river dead😓

  20. If this Doctor – or rather Chibnall – doesn't stop spouting cultural
Marxist (PC) lectures this will be the end of Dr Who for good.
Ratings are all the BBC really care about and the future looks very bad.
    .

  21. Not realistic. We all know the Doctor would immediately get naked and start playing with his vagina at this moment. You don't just get the opposite sex organ without immediately wanting to enjoy it. Probably wouldn't leave the Tardis for a century.

  22. doctor who se al vuelto una mierda convirtiendose una mujer en doctor como le dirán ahora la doctora han cambiado todo el significado que tiene doctor who por el simple echo de convertirlo en mujer

  23. This men changed my life. He is my doctor. He is the doctor. He is the reason i became very kind and nice. Im not feeling hatred anymore cause its not worth it.
Love is not an emotion. Love is a promise.
I cant handle that he is gone. Every ending is sad but every beginning is happy.
I have to let you go even if i dont want too.
    Doctor i.. let you go.
    Thank you Peter Capaldi.

  24. She broke one Doctor Who tradition. One that David Tennant/Matt Smith/ Peter Capaldi all did. Their first words were a part of the body. Her's were OH BRILLIANT.

  25. The new Doctor's first act is to be ejected forcibly from the Tardis. For two full episodes. And it's been kind of like that since. Season 11 was middling, at best. In trying to 'reboot', they forgot what "Doctor Who" was about until the New Year's special. Then they took a full year off. I fear the series' entire future will depend on what happens in 2020; whether, as little Clara once said, it can get its mojo back.
