Yule Log Cookie Recipe : Adding Flour for Yule Log Cookies


Hi, I’m Jennifer Cail. On behalf of Expert
Village I’m going to show you how to make these delicious maple yule log cookies. Our
next step is going to be adding the flour. You want to gently scoop the flour into your
measuring cup we are going to be adding 2 cups of flour. You don’t want to pack it in
because that will be to much flour and you’ll end up with dry cookies or cookies that don’t
quite hold together. Let’s just top that off just a little bit and there is 1 and when
we start mixing this we are going to start on a lower speed for the flour to become incorporated
before we turn it up to a higher speed. This will make sure that the flour doesn’t go flying
as soon as we turn the mixer on which will happen if you start at a to high of a speed.
Now we are finished putting the flour in also if you want to scrap down the sides of your
bowl a little bit make sure that there isn’t anything sticking to the sides that is not
going to get incorporated. We are going to start our mixer on a slow speed this will
allow the wet and the dry to knead and start mixing up a little bit. You want to have it
a nice slow steady speed until most of the flour has been at least been stuck to some
wet parts, some of the butter and egg mixture. Then we are going to bring it up to a higher
speed.
